I remember when I first heard TDCC (Two Door Cinema Club) on the radio. It was 2009, I was but a lowly 14 year old, Radio X was still XFM, and I fell in love with a little song called ‘I Can Talk’, which, unbeknownst to this Myspace band, would later come to be the encore for their sold-out comeback tour.
Having grown up to the comforting sounds of Anthony Kiedis’ vocals, it is safe to say that anyone who knows me would say that I would have given up my life for these guys. Every time someone tells me that the Chilis have had their moment in the sun, or that they’re awful live, I’ve refuted as strongly as humanly possible. But after seeing them 10th December in Birmingham’s Genting Arena, I finally learned to admit the cold, hard, truth – my favourite band are dead.
In September of 2013, my friends and I had a chance to see the Birmingham indie rockers Swim Deep on the last day of their tour in London. After waiting almost three hours to see this band (and stopping off for some KFC while we
